Overview

Harborlight Press needed a cover for a debut memoir that could hold its own on crowded shelves and tiny thumbnails alike. We designed the jacket, spine, back cover and full interior — then supervised the press run.

The challenge

Literary covers often whisper when they should speak. The brief demanded quiet confidence: expressive typography, one strong image, and a spine that pops in a bookstore row.

Our approach

We presented three distinct directions, tested them at thumbnail size with readers, and refined the winner through paper stocks and finishes — matte laminate with spot gloss on the title.
